You wake up cold, a chill that goes right down to your bones. Somewhere close by water drips with maddening irregularity, plip….plip……………plop. It’s dark, an absolute black so thick it’s almost tangible. A breeze blows in from in front of you and you shiver realizing suddenly that you’re wet. The water you’re lying in is the same temperature as everything else, without the breeze you never would have known. The surface beneath you is smooth, and slick without the slightest divot or nodule.
